How Does The Basic Brother Drum Work?

I don't particularly think that by owning a printer you have to know exactly how it works. However, if something ever goes wrong with your Brother drum or Brother toners cartridges, it's a good idea to know how something like this works in order to troubleshoot the problem and try to fix it. If you can't fix it, and your manufacture can't help you, you would simply need to buy a new Brother toner or Brother drum. Initially, the Brother drum establishes a positive charge by the charge wire - this is a wire with an electrical current that runs through it.

Some printers may also use something called a charged roller as well, but the guidelines and process is still the same. As the Brother drum rotates, the printer shines a laser onto the surface - obviously this is for a laser printer. Essentially the laser is going to start "etching" letters, numbers and or images on to the surface. Since this is about electricity you will need a conduit, in this case a fine black powder which comes out of the toner and clings to the negative discharged areas of the Brother drums, but alas it does NOT cling to the background because this is where the positively charged section is.

The powder is then glued on to the roller, the roller then goes over the paper and the paper is then "etched" with the aforementioned "image". It's actually kind of a cool thing if you think about it, especially when you compare a laser printer to an old school printer like an ink jet which simply works like an old typewriter and uses "bands" instead of electricity and charges. It's really the revolutionary and new found way to print things. Its high quality for sure, one of the highest quality ways TO get prints. To take a look at some of the Brother toner cartridges and Brother drum options we offer such as TN-580, TN580, TN-350, TN350, TN-360, TN360 and Brother DR520, take a look at our website!

How Do I Clean A Brother Drum Cartridge?

When it comes to your printer, it doesn't really matter how high quality it is, the quality comes from within the machine and how well the brother toner is working. It's usually a pretty good idea to clean your brother toners, but a lot of owners simply don't know HOW to clean Brother Toner cartridges safely and effectively so here is a little guideline you can follow along with the next time you are having problems with your toner! Note that this should solve your problems, but if not, you might need a new brother toner.

First off you should position the printing sample in front of the drum unit and try to figure out exactly where the poor printing is coming from. Secondly, you need to turn the drum or the drum kit gear manually while taking a look at the surface of the Brother drum. Once you find the mark on the drum that matches the print sample you printed out, you will need to wipe the surface with something like a swab or cloth - make sure you don't use anything like a pen to get anything OUT of the drum.

Remember this is photosensitive, so if you rupture anything, your ruined! Also, make sure you don't use liquids unless it's FOR a brother toner! That's it. Now you should have been able to view where the marks were coming from and now you should have cleared the area so that the printing can resume clearly!

You’ve got your Brother toners – now protect your Brother printer!

Now that you’ve stocked up on affordable Brother Toner cartridges, it’s time to turn your attention to the printer itself. Authentic Brother toners from www.BrotherToner.com will protect your printer from damaging third-party products, but you should still maintain and clean your printer to keep it working smoothly.

First, you need to regularly clean your printer inside and out. For the outside, use a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with rubbing alcohol or water. Overly strong products will damage the computer. Invest in a printer cover to shield the outside from dust.

For the inside, remove the toner cartridge and use rubbing alcohol or Bestine to clean the inner gears and rollers. Employ a small vacuum to remove dust, not a compressed air blower as you would on a keyboard – this will only push dust into the machine.

Before putting the toner back in place, roll it gently in your hands to redistribute the ink. This will make your toner last longer and allow your machine to print evenly.

Last, make sure you use your printer every week or so to keep the ink from drying out.

Brother Toner Tips: How to Save on Printer Ink?

There are many ways to be more efficient when it comes to Brother Toner ink. Unfortunately, nature planned that every time you print something… well, you use ink. Yup, that’s the way things go. But, there are many steps you can take in order to cut back on that ink usage – first and best – think before you hit print.

Here’s another good one – print only what’s necessary. This one is especially important when printing web pages. You probably know that when you press print in your browser, just to print an email or a hotel reservation, instead of the conformation number you get a scroll filled with commercials and text that you don’t really need. So next time, don’t press print in your browser. Just copy the important stuff and paste into a Word document. That way you’ll end up saving ink, and saving some trees as well.

It’s also good to remember to go black and white. When you don’t need colors, just select B&W or Grayscale in your printer’s options and save on that color ink for times when you need to print an eye-catching presentation or graphics.

Unlike Brother Toners, third-party toners can damage your machine!

Many people still wonder why they should only buy original Brother toners for their printers. Well, first of all, there’s the quality issue. Refilled toners just can not provide the same quality of printing that an original certified toner can.

But quality aside, refilled toners can actually harm your equipment! You see, printer toners and cartridges are built for one time use only. It’s like filling up a used bottle of coke. Sure, you can recycle bottles, but would you really buy a bottle of coke that was collected buy someone and refilled with who knows what? Exactly.

Take a look at the photograph below. You can see a damaged developer drive gear which was damaged when excess torque from a third-party toner cartridge caused the gear to twist and break.

Damage of this kind requires expensive repairs that are not covered under the original warranty.

And by the way, buying genuine Brother Toners doesn't mean it has to be more expensive. Especially not if you buy them from a reliable internet wholesaler like www.BrotherToner.com! You can save a substantial amount of money plus get a cheap flat shipping rate and most importantly – genuine Brother Toners quality.
